Technicolor GRC Dogsport Club

Chromatic K9 is the proud home of the Technicolor GRC Dogsport Club. We practice twice a month with the aim of helping our members achieve their competition goals in the sport. In addition to club practice, we also host a “Social Responsibility” Drop In Practice as well as multiple Group Classes in order to help introduce more handlers to the sport

Club Practice

Cost: $20/dog club member

$30/dog non-club member

Club practice typically runs 2-2.5 hours.

During Club Practice, we offer both SR and Drive Sport working spots.

Roll call is organized via the Technicolor GRC Facebook group a few days prior. Spots are limited and club members are given priority when there are more dogs than spots available.

Each dog gets their own 15-20 minute working spot with an experienced coach. Everybody helps out during each other’s turns be it via being a controlled distraction, taking photos/filming, being a greeter, etc.

Any handler that hasn’t attended practice before must come and watch without a dog before they are able to sign up for a working spot. Coaches work their dogs during these practices so if you are interested in watching teams that have been around the sport for a while and are working towards advanced titles, this is a good place to start!

SR Drop In

Cost: $40/dog

SR Drop In typically runs 2-2.5 hours.

During SR Drop in, we only work on goals related to the GRC Social Responsibility test.

Roll call is organized via the Technicolor GRC Facebook group a few days prior. The SR Drop Ins were specifically created in order to help newer handlers work towards competing in the sport, which means that when spots are limited we prioritize non-club members.

Each dog gets their own 15-20 minute working spot with an experienced coach. Everybody helps out during each other’s turns be it via being a controlled distraction, taking photos/filming, being a greeter, etc. Coaches do not work their personal dogs during SR Drop In so that newer handlers can get as much help and guidance as they need.

Any handler can attend SR Drop In with their dog right away-no need to watch first, although you are welcome to if you’d prefer!

Practice Rules

We ask that everyone is available for the entire practice to help other teams with their training goals for the day. This means everyone is expected to help other teams when they aren't working a dog, whether that's coaching, trouble shooting, setting up cones, being a distraction or greeter, or simply keeping track of time.

  • Working spots will be given with the following priority

    • Club members

    • Non-Club GRC members

    • Non-GRC members

  • While we will always do our best to run all dogs that come to practice, only club members are guaranteed a working spot

  • If you have never been to one of our practices before - You must come and watch a practice without your dog first to get an idea of how things are run. Please let us know if you plan to come watch.

  • Treat every dog as if it is aggressive. This means there should be absolutely no interaction with any dog without consent. This goes for dog/dog interaction as well as dog/human interaction.

  • If your dog has any issues with humans, it must be disclosed. We are all here to help reach each other’s goals, but each member has the right to decide how much risk they are personally willing to take.

  • All teams should be able to work independently.

Becoming a member:

  • Any prospective members must have competitive trial goals for their dogs in the sport of GRC
