Which training tools do you use and what is your philosophy?
At Chromatic K9, we believe that every dog and human is a unique, complex being that deserves an individually tailored approach. Therefore, our training approach is specifically designed to bring out the best in the dog-human team in front of us. We use a Holistic approach that addresses the emotion underlying any behavior we are addressing - be it recall, potty training, or serious aggression.
Therefore, we care about your dog’s lifestyle, the clarity of your communication system, nutrition, genetic predispositions, and past experiences. Our science-based approach draws from a wide variety of disciplines, ranging from Psychology to Neurology, Ethology, and Biology. For some dogs, this may mean all training will be done on a harness with a ball. For others, it may involve an E-Collar, a Flexi-lead, or freeze-dried duck liver. Our bottom line is the dog’s well-being and the relationship with their owner - everything else is secondary.
What kind of dogs and/or behaviors do you work with?
We work with dogs of all breeds, ages, and backgrounds. No dog is too young, too old, too aggressive, or too fearful to be helped by our methods. We specialize in Behavior Modification, Off-Leash Obedience, and Puppy Head Start. We have helped hundreds of dogs gain off-leash freedom, overcome severe fear, and grow up to become model citizens with our unique approach.
If you’re unsure whether you and your dog are a good match for our training programs, please fill out our intake form and we can get you started on the right path-be it with us or another reputable trainer in the area!
