“I am not exaggerating when I say that Val changed our lives. We have 2 rescue pitbulls who both have their own difficulties and also developed littermate syndrome despite not being biological siblings. We have spent many years trying different trainers and training philosophies and were burnt out and at the end of our rope when we reached out to Val for help. Our dogs had been kicked out of dog walking companies for behavior, medicated heavily and given up on by many professionals in the dog training field. After just our first appointment Val made recommendations that already made more impact than years with other trainers and she approaches everything from a humane and evidenced based perspective which made us feel confident in her interventions. Val has had both of our dogs for board + train, home school and in home lessons and I've never felt nervous about our dog's wellbeing or felt judged for having such difficult dogs. Val is thorough and makes sure we understand how to handle each dog through training exercises but also explains WHY the technique is right for each dog and how it helps them. Our younger dog started with Val as a fearful and reactive dog who couldn't walk a block without barking and lunging at nearly everything in her environment. After time with Val, she can walk past dogs calmly, meet new people without being aggressive and is truly enjoying life instead of being terrified 24/7. Our older dog IS learning new tricks and can now go on walks with us at a public park without barking at every single person and dog we pass. Both of our dogs have a better quality of life since starting to work with Val....and so do we!”
